Ferrari has dazzled us recently with 599-based variants (the one-off retractable-roof Super America 45 shown at the Villa d’Este concours, and limited-edition homage to Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, the SA Aperta), the big production news is the FF 4-seater, whose 650-bhp 6.3-liter V-12 and unconventional 4RM all-wheel-drive system promise incredible performance. The styling is less than a home run, unless you’re partial to the 1960s Ferrari “Breadvan” 250 GTO or the BMW M Coupe (see Ampersand, April 2011, for more information). Fans of al fresco Ferraris will likely see a 458 Italia Spider in 2013, and rumors continue to circulate about a 458 Italia Scuderia with less weight, additional power and a more sinewy suspension..^^
